Some of the content may be specific to the realities of Austin ISD though, we hope, much will be useful to viewers worldwide. The Weekly Lessons Learned Archive contains a list of topics from and links to previous updates.

How can I get the grades for students who have changed schedule out of my BLEND course?

What grading options are available in BLEND?

I am trying to load my BLEND grades and I can’t see any grades for this grading period. The grades show when I have ALL Grading Periods selected.

Can a student resubmit a BLEND assignment? Can I decide from which submission to take the grade?

  • Depending on your assignment settings, students may have unlimited or limited assignment submission attempts. As teacher in a course, you can decide how to handle assignment resubmissions.
  • Teachers in a course have the option to set availability dates for each assignment. Availability dates can restrict the dates that an assignment can be submitted.
  • Most assignment submissions can be viewed in SpeedGrader.
  • This guide demonstrates the process.
  • Google LTI assignments are viewed and graded on the original assignment page. This video demonstrates grading in Google Assignments.
    • For students to see their feedback in a Google Assignment, the assignment must be available to them. If the Until availability date has passed, students will not be able to view their overall feedback for the assignment. Student will only be able to see their grade.
    • We suggest leaving the Until date blank for a Google Assignment.

Can I update a new quiz then have it regrade and update the BLEND gradebook?

  • In certain circumstances, quiz regrading works.
  • When regrade works
    • Currently, quiz regrade is available for Multiple Choice, True/False, and Multiple Answers question types.
    • Quiz regrade only applies to students who have already taken the quiz.
  • When regrade does not work
    • Adding or removing a question does not trigger the quiz regrade feature.
    • Changing the point value for a quiz question does not trigger a quiz regrade.
    • The student’s submitted quiz will show the updated point value, but the current grade won’t change in the Gradebook.
  • What to do when regrade will not work
    • Moderate the quiz and let the student(s) retake the quiz.
    • Manually update the grades in the gradebook to match the regraded quiz score.
  • Canvas guide: What options can I use to regrade a quiz in a course?

Where can I find all of the Tech Design Team resources in one place?
